Calypsomag
2018 - 2021 - waiting for the right time to re-launch
I'm a founder of an online communication and entertainment platform called Calypso Magazine. Calypso represents a narrow spectrum of contemporary culture and reflects relevant music and art acts across Europe, which as a website, only at a span of 2018 period, had organically gained 35,5K unique page views.
My, as a founding editor's key activities were:
• I've been a creative writer and media planner ever since Calypso has been launched,
• developed and grew platform with additional contributors from Lithuania and The Netherlands,
• planned the content across all media channels,
• managed other writers and produced quality content to the readers.

Calypsomag - The Background
Content wise, Calypso Magazine highlights the best in European neighbourhood for electronic music scene and all in between. In a website, all information falls into a shape of interviews with the artists, reviews of the latest albums and biggest music festivals across Europe. Communication is also split between other social media channels, such as Facebook and Instagram, while another type of content, premieres of the great releases within such sonic spectrum, are placed on Calypso Sessions page on Soundcloud.
Having founded the project myself, I, however, am thankful to a handful of other people who expressed interest in rolling out this idea further, let it be interviewing, photography or videography and editing.
Even though the past phase of the project has finished, I'm hoping for a proper timing for a comeback with more relevant ideas.
2hrDays service revolves around the weekly 1-on-1 performance & accountability coaching sessions. I was asked to help out with the branding and design for the website (desktop & mobile).
One app to find a restaurant and order at the table or on the go. While the team of other designers worked on web and admin panel, my role was to create a mobile app.
During my period of freelance, we've had several iterations on:
• the look of the restaurants within the list view,
• detailed view of the restaurant and the process of meal ordering,
• map view with the core functionality on how to show several restaurants in one specific area,
• the dark mode for "combined restaurants" under one roof - Uptown and Downtown areas of the city,
• solving how to make restaurants be more engaging to the users, by giving some of them an ability of higher conversion rates than the others. For that matter we decided to introduce "stories", as seen on Facebook or Instagram.
Pigu is the largest e-commerce company in the Baltic states and has more than 3 million. unique visitors a month, making it a most popular e-shop in Lithuania. Its range offers over 350.000 different goods, starting from perfume, home appliances, clothing and footwear to household goods.
I was asked to define key aspects of usability and apply them to the new design of the app, whilst other designers were working on redesigning a website.

Joining as a founding member in 2014, I helped Grana grow from a 5 person team to over 80 with $16 million in investment. Grana specialises in quality essentials through low markups, cutting out the middlemen and product transparency.
Originally as an Art Director and then Head of Brand, I was responsible for Grana’s branding from web design, photography, marketing assets, store design, copy direction, to product tags and care labels.
